Mistoffelees was sound asleep. Demeter's screams woke him up. It startled him to hear Demeter scream, especially since he was in the middle of a dream about him and Razzy dancing together at the Jellicle Ball. "Oh no, I hope Demeter is okay," he told himself. He knew that Munkustrap would be there to look after Demeter, but he took a look out of his pipe, and looked around. Some more cats were out and about. He hoped to see Razzy.

Razzy had heard Demeter's screams and reappeared on top of the pipe. She laid down and tapped Misto on the head. "Hello Misto," she replied softly, looking down at him with her dark brown eyes, "I heard Demeter screaming. The poor queen has been having nightmares for a long time now. Even Munkustrap's presence doesn't seem to help much. I wish I could get rid of all her nightmares, but I'm not that powerful. I don't even think the both of us combined could do that."

"That's no life for her to live," Razzy sighed softly as she rested her chin on top of her paws, "I hope nothing goes wrong at the Ball this year. We deserve one day of fun a year where we shouldn't have to worry about being terrorized."

'Yeah, I agree. Macavity always seems to mess things up, and he scares poor Demeter to death. I hope this year he'll hibernate," Misto laid on his back, looking up at Razzy, the Queen of his choice.

Razzy sighed softly and said, "We can only hope." Then she looked out over the vast yard. Her dark brown eyes went distant. She was thinking of the Ball. She could see images of them all dancing and having a wonderful time. There were no interruptions and Macavity wasn't terrorizing them.

"Yeah, one can only hope," Misto said back at her. He followed her eyes as he looked up at her. His heart was smiling, looking at her. He hoped that Razzy would choose him as a mate.

Razzy smiled to herself as she watched the Invitation she had worked really hard on and then Misto coming out to dance the Invitation with her. Then it jumped to the Ball itself where she was dancing with Misto during the 'couple' dances and finally him stopping her from leaving and both of them going through the mating dance together. She came back to reality and looked down at Misto. She gave him a smile and said, "I can't wait for the Ball. Then I will be a Queen." The early morning light made her dark brown eyes sparkle with happiness.

'Yeah, I can't wait eighter." Misto wasn't yet sure who Razzy would couple with. His dark brown eyes looked at Razzy and smiled. They were twinkling in the sunlight.

"Have you asked anyone to the Ball yet?" she asked. She was curious to know, since a lot of the young female kittens in the Yard had their eyes on Misto. She sat up on the pipe and curled her long bushy tail around her.

'Um, no, not yet, but um, I d-do have someone in mind to ask." He got really shy and started to blush a little when Razzy asked him if he had asked someone yet. "Um, Razzy, um, has anyone um, asked you yet?" He asked her, trying not to sound stupid.

Razzy didn't giggle at how nervous Misto was in asking that question. She said, "No Misto, no one has asked me yet." She looked at him shyly and moved into another position. It was a more flexible position, but still very tasteful. She wasn't like some of the queens who were older than her, but not by much, who flaunted their sexuality. Razzy was much more sophisticated than that.

'Um, Razzy," he started very shyly. He wanted to ask her out to the Ball, and knew that he was just going to have to come out and ask her. He didn't want to sound stupid and studder over his words, but he was getting nervous. "Would you like to go to the Ball with me, and be my mate?" He asked rather bluntly because of his being nervous.

Razzy blushed and smiled. "Misto, I would love to go to the Ball with you and become your mate," she replied softly, "I never thought you would ever ask me." She purred happily. She hoped that no female would dare try to come between them and ruin what would be the best night of her life.

Misto purred and smiled. He was so happy. He was going to be mated with the Cat he loved. "Wow! Oh my gosh, Razzy, I don't know what to say. I'm so happy." He jumped up beside her and cuddled with her. He was blushing to no end.

Razzy giggled and snuggled up to him. She purred contently and gave him a whisker kiss on the cheek. "This will be the best Ball ever," she replied softly in his arms, "I'm pretty sure the young female kittens will be upset that you won't be available when it's their turn. We were meant to be together."

"I certainly hope so. I'm still worried about Demeter," he replied. "If there isn't a Macavity scare, it will be the best year to date." Misto cuddled with Razzy, and purred.

"Yeah," she replied softly, "Do you know if Munkustrap is with her right now? If he is, then maybe it might be a good idea if we don't bother them. I think the less crowd she gathers around her, the calmer she can end up with just Munkustrap holding her."

Razzy stayed snuggled up to him and intertwined her tail with his. She continued to purr and said, "Munkustrap must really love her enough to be there for her when she needs him." Then she looked up at him with her dark brown eyes. "Misto? If that ever happened to me, would you do what Munkustrap is doing for Demeter?" she asked softly.
